In 2015, despite attempts by Israeli occupation authorities to alter its name by removing “Palestine” and thus erasing Palestinian identity, the Palestine Sunbird was rightfully declared the national bird. This successful resistance preserved Palestinian cultural heritage, cementing the bird's status as a symbol of endurance amidst the complexities of the region's history and landscapes.
